action » somewhere practically in russia
[ maybe, just maybe, if the fact that they seem to be in the barren tundra is anything to go off. ]
action » where's chekov when you need him
What was your first clue?
action » probably wrongfully assigned to another department!!
The fact that we have found ourselves in an unidentified location, Doctor. [ enjoying the time you'll be spending with him yet bones? ] I can only presume we triggered some sort of precautionary measure on the device.
action » spork you're in charge of personnel how did you let this happen
( That's meant to come out intimidating and snarky, but Bones' chattering teeth ruin the effect somewhat. He takes a step forward, and hisses as cold travels through his body. This is so not fun. )
I told you not to touch it.
action » #blame jim
[ the lack of any useful equipment is only an additional irritant onto an already stressful situation, but spock is trying his best to keep it cool. which doesn't seem to be a problem for bones haha get it............
but look at least the chattering doesn't escape spock's notice and he stops in his tracks to look back at bones. ]
Are you alright, Doctor McCoy?
action » #always
( If he could throw his hands up in the air without removing them from the protective self-hug they're in, he so would. He settles for just glaring. )
Oh, of course. I'm only stuck in some godforsaken tundra with you, it's not like I'm going to freeze to death or slowly experience my body systems shutting down as you offer unhelpful explanations for how the hell we ended up here!
action » #where's he when you need him anyways
[ if it'd just been him, he calculates that he could've easily covered enough distance to be in proximity of a road. however, the presence of the doctor means that spock's own calculations will have to be adjusted to include the abilities and limitations of mccoy, with respect paid to the harsh environmental factors. it made things more difficult, but perhaps it was a direct result of being on the enterprise too long, or in the proximity of kirk, but the vulcan wasn't about to ditch (no matter how much the other complained). there would be no man left behind. ]
The faster we move, the quicker we may be able to find shelter. It would be our wisest option at the moment.
action » #never anywhere good
( Bones would be touched, except he's still utterly convinced he's going to die in this frozen wasteland.
He huffs, and the breath escapes his mouth in a visible cloud. )
When I-- figure out-- how to-- reroute-- my body's-- efficiency-- to go-- as fast-- as you think is-- acceptable-- I'll-- let you-- know.
( It's really cold. )
action » #cmon bones use your powers and become a transporter beam
[ needless to say, spock is even more concerned and determined to find out what the hell the porter device is. ]
If we make it back, I shall note down all our findings, up to and including our current situation.
action » also a combo
action »
still.
its really is quite cold. ]
action » #done
action » #kiby ilu
( He's not 100% sure that that would actually happen, but he's not willing to bet against that result. He honestly can't think of anything to do but keep moving, even as his fingers start to numb and his lips turn as blue as the uniform shirt he isn't wearing. He does, however, stop to give Spock the wariest stare. )
...what course of action would that be?
action » #ilu2 :')
[ is he just messing with bones now? has spock become self-aware of his own logic dropping? the world may never know. ]
I believe you are familiar with common methods of preventing hypothermia.
action » #:)))))
( He mutters that, before taking a step back from Spock. He knows a dozen ways to prevent hypothermia, and most of them include layering in wool sweaters. Also, soaking in lukewarm water. There's also the more obvious solution, but he thinks he'd rather die. So he says so. )
I'd rather die.
action » #
An outcome that would help neither of us. I would much rather increase both our chances of survival until we can find a more suitable solution.
action »
...god help me.
action »
[ because they've got to do something. even spock's starting to get cold now and trying to fight down the shivers through sheer determination isn't going so well. ]
action »
( He is definitely thinking that this is for Spock, not for himself, and that it is his duty as a doctor to keep the other man healthy. Yep. That's exactly what's going on here. )
action »
action »
This is still your fault. For the record.
action »
[ don't make him drop you bones. or at least think about doing so because okay, logically, that would be a very bad idea since right now this is kind of benefitting both of them as they slowly make their way to warmer pastures. ]
action »
( "We", since he does know this is at least partly his fault. )
action »
[ there may or may not have also been an attempt to pull bones and himself closer together in the interest of trapping more body warmth between them. ]
action »
Or we could just knock and see if she's in a better mood.
